job responsibilities for a daddy

Excitement Producer
Chad has always brought excitement into any situation. From day one, he was so excited to be a Dad, a good Dad to our new son. This picture is the beginning of an adventure with Daddy that Eli never saw coming!

Slide Chauffeur

Chad had always loved taking Eli to parks. Sometimes I wonder if it is really for Eli and for Daddy because Chad always has a ball playing with Eli on all of the equipment. He is like a big kid which is wonderful. To see Eli and Chad play together is a heart warming time.

Family Lover

Chad rushes home to be with Eli and I. He misses us during the day. Chad will constantly tell me about the funny things Eli did or about how much love he has for him. As a mother and wife, it warms my heart to no end to hear these things.

Picture Model

I am a camera nazi and love taking pictures (as you well know from reading this blog!). Chad has always been patient with me in my incessant need to take pictures of him and Eli. He braved getting soaked for this picture and he did it for us.

Beach Frolicker

Chad has always loved the beach with a passion! So when we took Eli last year to Sea Isle City on vacation, Chad was the typical prepared Dad. We had a caddy to wheel to the beach all of our beachy necessities, including a kiddie pool, tent, towels galore, suntan lotion, you get the picture. And Chad LOVED walking with Eli on the beach, looking out at the water and waves, just loving his family being at the beach.

Snow Patroller

This past winter was Eli's first encounter with snow. He loved it and more importantly loved that Chad took the day off to be with him and play in the snow covered backyard. They worked up a sweat that day, walking and jumping and just being kids together.

Independence Giver

This past Easter, Chad said I was being too clean about dying the Easter eggs with Eli. So the good Daddy that he is, he took Eli on his lap and let him go free. As you can see from the picture, Eli has his hand in the cup of dye. Chad has always wanted Eli to feel free to explore things and if he wants to explore egg dye, then Chad wants to let him! He has always said that exploration leads to creativity and I agree.

Nature Lover

Chad knows so much about everything, but specifically nature. When he goes into detail about a bug that has been around for centuries, my eyes tend to glaze over. But now being a Dad, Chad loves to impart that wisdom on Eli. And Eli listens now to Chad and what he teaches him. He may not understand it fully, but anything Chad says Eli hangs onto.

Book Decipherer

When Chad reads books to Eli, he reads them with fun, unadulterated passion. He adds sound effects and crazy faces which make Eli laugh forever. It is really a neat thing to watch.

Creativity Inducer

Chad's mind is a mixture of creative juices just flowing and bubbling constantly. Some of the games he comes up with to play with Eli I would never even dream of, but Eli LOVES them. Who puts a ball in their shirt, really?? Eli is enamored by Chad every day.

Santa Protector

Who does Eli run to when Santa scares him? His Daddy. He will protect him from any harm, even a fat guy in a red suit.

Hand Holder

Across the street, up the steps, into our hearts, Chad's hand will lead Eli's anywhere. And I know that Chad's hand will lead Eli's into the Lord's hand someday and He will guide in ways that Chad cannot. With Chad as an example, Eli will find the Lord with ease. Thank the Lord for your earthly father today.

Chad, Daddy, thank you for everything you do for our son. We are in crazy happy love with you.
