upside

life

-Evangeline is doing very well with nursing and though she latches off a bit a few times during feedings, she seems to be a very efficient nurser as far as extracting my milk. Her little cheeks go to town and it is so cute!

-Since we brought Evie home, Eli has been waking up again at night about 2 times a night. For the last week, he has been sleeping through the night, but waking up at 5:30 as opposed to his normal wake up time, 7:00. Needless to say, the tiredness is overwhelming.

-Eli likes to climb into Evie's floor mat and cuddle with her, as well as play with the dangling toys. He also won't go downstairs in the morning until I get her. He wants to see her, touch her and touches her nose constantly. It is heartwarming to see that he loves her so much or at least that the novelty hasn't worn off yet. :)

-Chad is really working hard getting his company off the ground. He has a website (http://www.deboltinteractive.com/) and some friends have agreed to do some sales for him. If you or someone you know would like your website to be on the first page of a Google search, please contact him.

-I am tired....a lot. It comes with the job of Mommy and I wouldn't trade it in for the world. My appetite is insatiable and my weight has stopped going down. I haven't been this heavy since the freshman 35 I gained in 1997. Yikes. But I am working to get it down, I just need to be cleared for exercise.

-I feel blessed every day....not all day, mind you, but there are real, tangible times when I look at my children and have an overwhelming feeling of blessing. God is good....very good to an undeserving me.

stats

Look at this beauty!!!

Here are the stats for both Elijah and Evangeline at 1 month old:

Elijah

Weight: 9lbs. 3oz. (37%)
Height: 22in. (63%)
Head: 14.75in (36%)

Evangeline

Weight: 10lbs. 6oz. (75%)
Height: 22.5in. (90%)
Head: 14.75in (60%)

As you can see, Evangeline is a bigger baby than Eli was all around. It is amazing such a skinny kid and such a plump girl can come from the same family. Look at the pictures below...the first is of Evangeline the day she was born. The second is of Elijah at 2 weeks old.

Look at Evie's thighs and face....plumpy!!!

Look at Eli's thighs and face......those skinny legs! :)

B.E.

I found these pictures of Eli and I at the park B.E......Before Evangeline. Life is beautiful with her and Eli loves to her to pieces. But there is a part of my heart that will miss the days of just Eli and I, together. I will always remember it. Always.

literally

THIS has to be the funniest thing I have seen in a very long time. It has nothign to do with Eli or Evie or our family, but please give it at least one minute.....HILARIOUS! I was crying laughing, though that may be because of my post baby hormones. Enjoy!

coif

Eli's hair is something I am experimenting with. It had been really short for a while, but lately I have let it grow longer. I cannot make a decision!!! I need to know which hairstyle you like best, so please let me know via the poll to the right of this post.

Do you like the short 'do:

Or the long 'do:

festive

Picture Alert: there are a ton of pictures in this post and if you don't feel like looking at them, just scroll down to the last one....it is funny.

This past weekend, we ventured out with the kids and our nephew in tow to the Strawberry Festival. We had never been, but as you can see, it was a big fair and there was LOTS to do!

See their faces upon entering.....very excited. Of course I was more excited for the fair food (yum, funnel cake!), but I digress.

Here is a picture that sums it up....we sat to eat lunch, which I was so excited for and Eli was so not, as you can see. Boy, do I put my children through torture...the torture of eating first and doing the rides later. What a terrible mom I am to have them eat something for lunch and not go hungry.

Eli won this weird, koosh type ball and proceeded to hit Chad with it. Look at the glee on Eli's face on being able to inflict pain on his Daddy...priceless.

And where was Evie, you may be wondering....she was in her stroller, strolling over grass, dirt, thick ride cords, people's toes, you name it. But she slept the entire time, even though she was very late to eat. Goodness, is she a good baby!

Good Uncle Chad, making sure Nathan was secure in his seat of death! I would never go on that....even at a country fair.

This is Eli cheating in skee ball......give the kid a break, he is 2!!

Eli is fishing while proud Daddy looks on....yeah right...Daddy is actually wondering which 15 year old kid to give his life savings to in order for Eli to participate in a 20 second game which will most likely gain him no useless throw away toy.

Eli loves dunk tanks. The Ellen show had a dunk tank and she would dunk people for charity. Eli caught a glimpse of this and was hooked. I would tape the show and show him the dunk tank part. He even pretends to get dunked or pretends he is the dunker and we are the dunked! So when he spied this dunk tank, oh the excitement. Even today when I uploaded these pictures, he wanted to stare at this one.....can someone say obsession??!?!

This picture is absolutely priceless!!! This slide was apparently way fast...so fast that it took Eli, a slide veteran, by surprise. The look on his face is sheer terror and I feel like a bad mom laughing at it.....but, it is funny. :)
